Draft prepared Mon Oct 19, 2026, 10:30 AM PT. This is a planning page only. Nothing on the live site or server was changed to make it. Steps marked needs Tina's yes change something live.
★Recommendation
Go with Direction A, in small steps. Fix the foundations on bestpetconnector.com and turn on Search Console, then let 8–12 weeks of real clicks, impressions and indexing data decide whether to grow it, move it to bestpetproviders.com, or park it.
Before anything else, two things have to be settled: who the client is, and where the app's source code lives.
1What the site is and what it was for
"PetConnector – Find Trusted Pet Care Near You" is a free US pet-care directory. You search by city or zip for boarding, sitting, dog walking, grooming, daycare and pet taxi, and businesses can "List Your Business" or "Claim this listing". It's a custom Next.js app behind Caddy in Docker (petconnector-caddy, files under /opt/petconnector) on Tina's DigitalOcean server 143.110.234.170.
How listings get in (Apr 16, 2026 call)
"What it does is when somebody searches something new … It has to build a new database." — Tina [00:57:38]
"It wasn't Appify. Appify was too much money. DuckDuckGo actually has a free… tool and system." — Tina [00:58:20]
"…if it's already been searched before in that area. It will have it…" — Tina [00:59:46]
"Okay, so we want to beat Pet Backer." — Tina [01:01:46]
"Show up before PetBacker dot com for everything." — Tina [01:02:11] · "That's a goal and a target." [01:02:21]
"I don't mind spending a couple hundred, even a thousand dollars, just building it out, getting the SEO right… So I can show them a proof of concept." — Mark Sweet [01:03:35]
same file as above
On Apr 29, Tina said: "…I can use it for Pet Connector" (about a Higgsfield account) [00:58:01].…/zoom-mcp-2026-05/2026-04-29_chona-the-architect_DBCFEE8B.md
The Oct 13 research notes float redirecting bestpetconnector.com to bestpetproviders.com as a programmatic pet directory. That was an idea, not a decision./workspace/money/monetization_research.md
Who it's for is still unknown (we've asked Tina). The Apr 16 call suggests Mark Sweet may be involved, but that's not confirmed.
2Where it stands today
Checked read-only on Mon Oct 19 at about 10:15 AM PT, plus the Oct 17 assessment.
Working
The home page and search load. Denver shows 11 real businesses.
www now redirects to the bare domain (301), with a valid certificate until Jan 15, 2027, 7:24 PM PT.
The bare-domain certificate is valid until Jan 4, 2027, 11:28 AM PT. Caddy normally renews it on its own.
The domain expires Apr 10, 2027, 5:48 PM PT. Auto-renew was turned on Oct 17 (not re-checked, because that needs a login).
Needs care
The footer pages /about, /help, /terms, /privacy and /insurance all return 404.
Denver shows duplicate listings, even though the site promises no duplicates.
The sitter page still has yen, LINE and Osaka copy from the Japan version.
There's no robots.txt or sitemap, and every page has the same title and description.
The hero image is 3.0 MB.
Search Console isn't set up, so nobody knows whether Google has indexed anything.
The app's source code isn't on the box.
bestpetnetwork.com and bestpetproviders.com are both parked at Namecheap with no site. Auto-renew was off on both as of Oct 17.
3Three directions
A · Revive it as a US pet-care directoryRecommended
Pros
The app already works
SSL and www are fixed
It's the goal Tina set in April
Cons
The source code has to be found first
Strong competitors (PetBacker, Petsit.com)
Slow to earn: 3–6 months by one unverified source
DuckDuckGo's terms of use haven't been checked
Rough effort: medium. About 1–2 weeks of fixes once the source is found, then 2–3 months of watching the numbers.
B · Fold it into bestpetproviders.com
Pros
One pet brand instead of three
Matches the Oct 13 idea
Cons
No site exists there yet
Little search value to carry over
Two moves, so more ways to break something
Rough effort: medium-high. Everything in A, plus the move, a new certificate and redirects.
C · Park it
Pros
Almost no effort
Keeps the domain safe while the client question gets settled
Cons
Left as-is, visitors see the 404s and duplicates
Drops the April goal
The server keeps costing money while it runs
Rough effort: low.
4Step by step
Domain Manager: server, DNS, SSL · Traffic Analyst: Search Console (clicks, impressions, indexing) · Eugene, Master Copywriter: all wording · Designer: design · Biographer: facts about Tina
Phase 0 · Get ready (no live changes)
Biographer: pull together what Tina's records say about who PetConnector is for and its history. Flag anything unconfirmed.
Domain Manager: find the source code (Tina's Mac, /opt/petconnector, or a repo) and make a read-only backup copy. needs Tina's yes for server access
Domain Manager: look up when both certificates renew and whether domain auto-renew is still on. Look only, change nothing.
Domain Manager: ask whether to keep bestpetnetwork.com and bestpetproviders.com. needs Tina's yes for any renewal change
Phase 1 · Fix the foundations
Eugene drafts the About, Help, Terms, Privacy and Insurance pages (the legal pages also get a legal review). Domain Manager puts them live. needs Tina's yes
Domain Manager: remove duplicate listings, Denver first, then every preloaded city. needs Tina's yes
Eugene drafts US wording to replace the yen, LINE and Osaka copy. Designer checks the layout. needs Tina's yes
Designer: make a lighter hero image (now 3.0 MB) that looks the same. needs Tina's yes
Eugene drafts a title and description pattern for each page type. Domain Manager builds it in. needs Tina's yes
Domain Manager: add robots.txt and a sitemap of the city and service pages. needs Tina's yes
Phase 2 · Measure
Traffic Analyst: set up Search Console and submit the sitemap. Domain Manager adds the DNS verification record. needs Tina's yes
Traffic Analyst: report clicks, impressions and indexed pages at weeks 2, 4, 8 and 12, plus a few city searches compared against PetBacker.
Phase 3 · Decide and grow
Traffic Analyst + Tina: at week 12, choose between growing it here, moving it to bestpetproviders.com, or parking it. needs Tina's yes
If it grows: Eugene drafts city-page wording, Designer designs the pages, and Domain Manager deploys. needs Tina's yes
Ways to earn (claimed or featured listings, leads, ads) are a later decision for Tina, made from real numbers.
5What's still uncertain
Whether Google has indexed any pages. We'll know once Search Console is running.
Effort estimates are rough guesses. Revenue figures in the research notes are the sources' own claims.
Who the client is, and who will make code changes. The Apr 16 call mentions Isaac possibly taking it over.
6Questions for Tina
Who is PetConnector for: you, Mark Sweet / Profit Drivers, or another client?
Where does the source code live, and may the Domain Manager take a read-only copy?
US-only, or Japan too? Should the Japanese toggle, yen and LINE login go, or do you still want an Osaka version?
